For the second time since 2007, Hannula Halom & Scherz has hired an associate. Kevin Van Ert began working at Hannula Halom & Scherz as a summer associate in 2013 before ultimately returning to the firm after graduating in May 2014.
Kevin is a lifelong Superior resident who takes tremendous pride in his community. He graduated from Superior High School in 2005 and then obtained his BS from the University of Wisconsin Superior. After graduating from UWS, Kevin went on to work a year for Polaris Industries in Osceola Wisconsin before enrolling at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School.
While at the University of Wisconsin Kevin was incredibly involved in various student organizations and as well as with Wisconsin Moot Court as both a coach and competitor. Kevin, along with his partners, successfully ended Wisconsin’s nearly 10 year drought by winning the Wechsler 1st Amendment Moot Court competition in Washington DC. In addition to his academic achievements, Kevin also served as a judicial intern to former Justice David Prosser of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Kevin handles a variety of different cases for the firm. Not only has he developed an interest in both family law and estate planning, but he also handles the personal injury matters that Hannula Halom & Scherz has long been known for.
